Internship at Joakim Larsson's studio, rue Le Brun, Paris, France
Winter 2008
Private house in Gassin, South of France
Internship presentation: During five weeks I worked at Joakim Larsonn's office in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. Architect graduated from ESA, Joakim Larsonn frequently works for the well known frédéric Borel and also works i collaboration with his father, architct as well.
Tasks description: I was asked to help on the preliminary researches and plans for a house project in the South of France. I had the responsability to elaborate plans, and reflexion on the house. Always interacting with Mr Larsson, I explored and understood the real meaning of team work in an architecture office. After analizing the site, its potentiality and the regulations, I was able, with the help of the architect, to develop several plans, 3D digital models and physical models, so each proposal could be analysed and bring new ideas. Besides the fact that several directions were considered, one main idea structured the entire project: a house intented to propose a light and view filter playground whereopacity and transparency, light and darkness perpetually interact.
Site description: The site is located on the Golfe of Saint Tropez, in Gassin, South East of France. Slightly deep because of its location on top of a hill, the site offers a very nice view of the Mediterranean Sea on the north. Surrounded by vegetation, the site offers a certain degree of intimacy to the owners who can't see the neighbour's houses.
